Nikon D80

A mid range DSLR that includes 10.2-megapixel CCD imaging sensor, an 11-area AF system, and an 18-135mm DX lens. It was superseded with the Nikon D90, that came out just after I bought the D80. I have also purchased a Velbon Tripod.

Nikon AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G

This is a high-performance large-aperture, single-focal- length lens especially suitable for professional and advanced amateurs who use Nikon FX-format cameras such as the D3 and D700, and frequently shoot human subjects as well as night landscapes and astronomy. What’s more, when attached to a DX-format SLR, this f/1.4 lens with 75mm equivalent picture angle is capable of shooting portraits with beautiful blur effects.

Apple iPhone 4s

Since apple released the iPhone with a decent camera, it is now so simple to pull out your camera – err phone – and take a quick shot. What’s even more fun is the hundreds, even thousands of apps that then allow you to tweak your photos before publishing. As Chase Jarvis says “the best camera is the one that’s with you”
