2011 | Watched and reviewed out of 10
There is a movie that will suit how you feel no matter what mood you’re in. Sadly, not all of the movies we watch are great. Any movie that receives a score of 8 or above is a great movie, and any movie that receives a score of 3 or below, is a bad movie and should be avoided.
-
Adjustment BureauHard to say whether this movie was an action thriller or a romance, perhaps it was a rom-action? Loved the concept but it did get a little lost in the middle and the ending was very hollywood and very ordinary. 7/10
-
BabiesA hard movie to get hold of. A brief look in to the lives of four babies in four different parts of the world 6/10
-
Black SwanOver the top Dramatic scene’s make this an intense and brilliant movie 9/10
-
Brides MaidsThere are some classic moments but sadly they are view and far between. The rest of the time you are just cringing at awkward moments. I was pleased, very pleased when it was over 3/10
-
CatfishIt kinda makes you feel like this really did happen, and the scary thing is it probably does 7/10
-
Chronicles of Narnia, Prince CaspianA slow start but it was cinematically magical 6/10
-
Charlie St CloudDidn’t like the glossy cinematography in this movie, and the story was very ordinary 5/10
-
CherrybombI just did not connect with the characters in this movie, too much excessive drugs and alcohol 5/10
-
ContagionI have to be honest, while this has gotten huge reviews, I was a little underwhelmed. Sure, it makes you think how fragile the world is but sadly the opening scene is the most exciting part of the whole movie 6/10
-
Curious Case of Benjamin ButtonIt’s a bit like watching Forest Gump in reverse, however this was painfully long 6/10
-
DreamcatcherAlien parasites that try to take over the world. The story was just weird 4/10
-
Fast FiveLots of action and all unbelievably un believable actions scenes, hope they don’t make a six 5/10
-
Friends with BenefitsJustin Timberlake and Mila Kunis are enough to carry this movie by itself. Pretty straight forward comedy with no surprises. Worth watching just to see Mila 7/10
-
Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows – Part 2A brilliant finish to the series, an action-packed finale with elements of darkness and beautifully integrated moments of humor and heroism 8/10
-
Happy Feet TWOThe visuals are spectacular, but the underlying story of the environment, parenting and friendship is very ordinary. Essentially, you have 100 minutes of dancing penguins breaking out in to song, and 100 minutes was just too long, so I fell asleep. 3/10
-
Julie & Julia365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen certainly passed some time on the plane 7/10
-
Leap YearWhat a predictable shite movie 3/10
-
Life As We Know ItA senseless chick flick that was very light entertainment 4/10
-
MachanicIf you enjoy senseless and creative slaughter, the sound of gunfire, and lots of explosions, you’ll enjoy this movie 6/10
-
Mission Impossible 4 | Ghost ProtocolSo exciting you have to remind yourself to breathe. That said it’s a movie where you just leave your brain at home, relax, and enjoy it 7/10
-
New Year’s EveAn American attempt at Love Actually that fails on every level and has more holes than a swiss cheese. The only funny moments are the outtakes at the end, seriously 3/10
-
No Strings AttachedPredictable and disapointingly ordinary, only made good by Natalie Portmans hot bed action 5/10
-
REDSilly is the operative word, but also very entertaining 6/10
-
S.A.L.TIf you want some senseless action with a simple script this is for you. Plenty of good stunt action 6/10
-
Sex in the City 2Another two and a half hours of slightly less painful torture, marginally better than the first 4/10
-
SomewhereLong scenes that bored me senseless, a pointless movie 1/10
-
ShortbusWell, this was like watching soft porn, quite good in places, but the story was just too wacky for me 5/10
-
Source CodeAn entertaining and intelligent movie 7/10
-
Social NetworkAmazing story throughly engaging, loved it 8/10
-
The AmericanVery art house, sparse film by George Clooney that didn’t excite me 5/10
-

The Kids Are All RightAn interesting story about a not so ordinary family, yawn 5/10
-
The Kings SpeechFinally a movie that was worth watching, stunning performances and cinematically brilliant 8/10
-
Transformers – Dark of the MoonThe story is lame, but who cares, this movie is full of action with amazing CGI and huge sound effects. This was the best of the three movies 7/10
-
Tron LegacyNever saw the 1st movie but really liked this one 6/10
-
Twilight Saga – Breaking DawnSeriously boring with little to no suspense, and I didn’t even get to see Kristen Stewarts bare arse. Only worth watching if you’re a Twi-hard 4/10
-
We Bought a ZooIf you fancy a feel good story about decent people, and want to walk away from the movie better than you did when you walked in, this is the movie for you 6/10
